About izanagi-jin-gu

Izanagi Shrine in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, is one of Japan's most ancient sanctuaries and serves as the legendary stage for the creation myths recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, Japan's oldest historical chronicles.

The shrine honors Izanagi-no-mikoto and Izanami-no-mikoto, the divine couple who created the Japanese islands, and offers blessings for finding love, marital harmony, safe childbirth, and protection from misfortune.

Awaji Island is often called "the birthplace of Japan," and Izanagi Shrine stands as its spiritual centerpiece, representing the very origins of the nation.

The sacred grounds, enveloped in timeless history and divine atmosphere, provide visitors with a truly special place for spiritual reflection and inner peace.
