About mitsuishi-jinja

Mitsuishi Shrine is a venerable shrine in Morioka City, famous for the three giant stones bearing "demon handprints" linked to a local legend. According to folklore, demons pledged on these stones never to harm humans, giving rise to the name "Iwate." The enshrined deity, Shinatsu-hiko no Kami, is believed to protect against disasters and evil. Despite its central location, the shrine retains a peaceful atmosphere and is considered a spiritual power spot.
